Voices

Both my directorial premiere and undergrad senior thesis, Voices was a completely original work scripted by anonymous submissions from students revolving around the theme of identity. The project took structural inspiration from monologue shows like Love, Loss, and What I Wore by Nora Ephron, and from tableau vivants and improvisations in the style of Playback theatre. Each monologue was connected to an object that formed the set dressing. I also featured live guitar and piano, and a piece of modern dance. The stories told ranged from heart-breaking to hilarious and cut to the quick of what it means to experience this one and glorious life we are given.
