Tender Napalm

The COVID-19 pandemic was devastating for communities across the world, and in particular many artists found themselves with performances canceled, venues dark, and in isolation. I like many found myself wondering how to continue in my medium, could theatre exist in a live digital space? As so many people took to Zoom for work, I dabbled with it from a creative standpoint. This project was part of the 2021 Student Workshop MAxSW Workshop Festival as collaboration between the MA Directing cohort and the student society at the University of London Royal Holloway. Tender Napalm is a gut-wrenching story about loss and trauma, wrapped in a melodic and imaginative remote-island landscape. As two disparate islands in a storm try to make their way back to each other we see the journey to our next normal.
