Fake Off!

Through workshops and structured improvisations as a part of my dissertation Director's Log, this devised drag comedy explored the aesthetic boundaries of Camp. We only scratched the surface, and constrained by a time limit, only developed a small portion of what the actual show could be. Inspired by the two competition shows "Rupual's Drag Race" and "The Great British Bake Off", the ensemble and I imagined what a sneak peak into the dressing room of the trashiest, worst type of competitiors might be on a show like that. Through story an ill-conceived assasisnation attempt, we utilized the Katie Mitchell method of script preparation as a structuring tool for devised improv sketches.
